Corrective Care

Most chiropractors believe that the elimination of symptoms is the easiest part of a persons care. However, if all the doctor does is reduce the pain and stop treatment, the chances of the condition reappearing is much greater. In order to prevent this, it is necessary to continue treatment even though your symptoms may be gone.
During the corrective phase of chiropractic treatment, you will not have to receive adjustments as often as you did during the first phase, and you may even be able to begin exercises at home to help with your continued recovery.
Don't be discouraged if you have mild "flare-ups". This is normal and are bound to occur during this phase because your body has not fully healed. Depending on your situation, this phase may last anywhere from several months to a year. Click here to learn about Phase 3: Wellness Care.
